Incentive program 6j2h12

Background 732a5o

The CRESPIAL Incentive Program seeks to develop various and promotion strategies for the ICH safeguarding processes led by the actors that make up civil society in the region. 1d5c4w

It seeks to promote processes for the knowledge and effective safeguarding of ICH in the region, involving the multiple social actors linked to these processes, such as ICH bearers, community groups, cultural managers, researchers, students, communicators, journalists, teachers, and neighborhood councils, among other protagonists of ICH management in our region.

On the other hand, it is essential to highlight that the program’s development is based on the work experience of the CRESPIAL regional calls, which the Center has developed since 2010.

Since its creation, CRESPIAL has sought to involve various social actors in Latin America in safeguarding ICH through various awareness-raising and citizen participation strategies. In this context, starting in 2010, the “Regional Calls” program was launched, which aimed to raise awareness among various social actors in Latin America regarding the assessment of PCI.

Competitive Funds 6c43h

The “Competitive Funds for Projects for the Safeguarding of ICH” project was developed within this program. This project sought to promote, advise, and finance various initiatives safeguarding ICH in Latin America. The call was aimed at civil society in general (ICH holders and managers, public and private institutions, students, and researchers, among others).

The call sought to position the issue of safeguarding ICH in Latin America and strengthen civil society’s capacities to protect it effectively.

Three calls for Competitive Funds were made (2011, 2013, and 2016), and the six winning projects of the third edition were developed between 2017 and 2018.

On the other hand, parallel with the development of the Competitive Funds, various calls for proposals related to the ICH’s photographic and audiovisual record have been developed since 2010.

The Photo and Video Contest of the ICH of Latin America was held. It sought to award the best records of the various expressions of the ICH of Latin America and collect photographs and videos to create a Photo and Video Bank (BFV) of the ICH of Latin America, which would promote safeguarding actions throughout the region.

Two editions of the Contest were held in 2011 and 2012. After evaluating the development of the activities above, it was decided to rethink this project and turn it into a call for photo and video projects to safeguard the ICH.

This call for photo and video projects sought to finance, totally or partially, photographic and audiovisual social initiative projects linked to safeguarding the ICH of Latin America.

There were two calls for photo and video projects (2015 and 2017), and the four winning projects from the second edition were developed from 2018 onwards.
